What to consider when wearing long dresses

Collection of long dresses has become a fashion staple for almost every woman. They have in fact become versatile and appropriate for every dressing purpose; office, formal as well as casual wear. Well fitting African long dress has the benefit of making you feel feminine and boosting your confidence. However, the very many long dresses on market, and the occasional limitations of high street has made the process of choosing the right long dress an intimidating experience.
The following are some of the considerations which can help you in maximizing and enhancing your fashion.

Body shape: if you have a pear shape, dark colors will give a good way in slimming your lower half. Deep blues, blacks and reds are very ideal. Going for lower neck-line which can accessories with your jewelries, draws eyes upwards.

Occasion: a party dress will never be an office option, right? If you are going for a stylish party dress, considering evening dress or a maxi dress can be a better option for you. Again, short sleeves and low necklines give you plenty room for accessorizing. For a fun event, for example, a birthday, you can look for brighter colors, while formal celebrations such as wedding will leave you to more understated designs. For those Africans who are not confident with baring arms and shoulders, light jacket or a shawl can be good addition to your outfit, allowing you to be really feminine without having self conscious feelings.

Always ensure that you are conscious of how some colors will work with your skin tone. Using very bright colors can leave you looking quite washed out. There are no fast rules in wearing long dresses. Just be aware of what people deem fashionable and also ensure that there’s good contrast between the dress and your skin.

Big sexy and the fashionable plus size clothing-encouragement to African woman

TLC, a learning channel has done us great by recently airing an exclusive series which involves five plus size women, their adventures, struggles, and victories in fashion industry. The big sexy was the best hit for a good season, and reason, especially considering the African woman. It took candid look at the fashionable plus size clothing world and how it has affected the lives of women who are involved in it.

In the last episode, aired on September, a photo shoot was made in Miami for the group wearing swim wear and bikinis. One of them, (Nikki) who despite being a fashionable plus size clothing model never thought of being shot beside size 2 models, though had reservations, accepted the shot. Fact is that she also never wore a bikini before, but the shot looks fabulous with her confident curvy diva, carrying her with poise and grace.

After the shot, these girls headed for the beach and found hunky guys to play volleyball. The show was entertaining and showed lots of real moments of the doubts and victory the women went through. All of the big five were wearing plus size clothing which made them look good, or should we say better than the thinner women out there, and above all, they just played the ignorance. One of the girls disclosed that they had a good time in Miami Beach bar, where they were pulled up; one-by-one by the hunky dancers on stage. It showed one thing, they looked superceedingly beautiful with the plus size clothing, despite their size. Or do you think the hunky dancers would go for them, if there was no attraction between them?

Confidence is one characteristic that the women shared. They had looked into the world in the eye and had no excuse nor apologize of what their size was. They had worn plus size clothing with the style and grace, providing unique style on each of them. This has reminded me of the African region, which is fairing well with especially considering the case of the big women. This series should help you understand and give you confidence in letting the world know that the big size is what you are, and that you are proud of it. If you have confidence on the plus size clothing you wear, and make sure they are the right ones for the best reason, nothing should make you feel intimidated or down. You will make the world change, in terms of fashion beliefs and beauty.

The best idea is to understand what the event is all about and then translating the same into something which looks spectacular but not sexy on curvy frame, with plus size clothing. Making some basic suggestions will help in ensuring your party is assembling both body and the bill, a very important factor with the current economic times. The below guide will guarantee you holiday season that is marry, bright and so right.

Dress casually

Lots of such events are of course held after work, and hence you will need to change your attire from the work dressing to social dressing. Ensure that you err on dress side than casual for this affair. While it may not be possible for you to wear evening dress to the office, it may not be challenging making few changes (quick) to pump up the party wear.

Slip into a skirt paired with silky blouse or knee-legged trouser in the morning, ensuring that you have a bit of interest on the color, pattern and texture of the clothing, but dress casual.

Taking the consideration of the bustier figures of the African women, blouses cutting into deep V will draw much attention, hence be sure to include a cami where there is too much cleavage showing.  Tipping off with a simple plus size jacket will take you through the working day. Come 5 o’clock, you shed that jacket for swapy dressing. You can swap out the basic pumps for higher heels and turn volume by dark shade of lipstick or smoky eye shadow make up. Finishing your assembling, have a bold jewelry or two, big-beaded necklace, a chunky cuff bracelet and sparkly chandelier earrings. This will not only make you part of the party, but also proud of the African sensation.
